In 2012, I challenged myself to diversify my reading with more books from countries other than the US and the UK. I don't think I did a particularly good job, 16/92 books, just 2 more than the the previous year.
My Reading World in 2012 {Places Visited While Reading}
I kept track using Google Maps, but have to admit that by mid-year, I had stopped updating it. Must.do.better.
- Latin America & The Caribbean
- The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho (author is from Brazil)
- No books from the Caribbean - I didn't include the collection of short stories, Diverse Energies, edited by Tobias. S. Buckell, who is from Grenada, because I think that's too much of a cheat Canada

As I mentioned before, looking back at My Reading World in 2011, I read fewer books, but from more countries. To improve on this in 2013, I have joined a few global reading challenges ...
- 7 Continents, 7 Billion People, 7 Books@ Life As A Journey
- Around the World in 12 Books Challenge 2013 @ Giraffe Days
- Books in Translation Reading Challenge @ The Introverted Reader

I don't know, I'd say that's not bad, and the map looks impressive :) Something to build on in 2013 and joining challenges is definitely a good idea.
