Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President by Candice Millard is an account of the brief presidency and death of James Garfield. This is one of the best examples of narrative non-fiction that I have read and I was deeply engrossed in this story {Goodreads reviews}.

Love is A Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield. Ahhh ... Love, love, love this book. That is all ... except - LOVE IT!
Shannon @ Reading Has Purpose
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff and It's All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson. This is my all time favorite book and I recommend it to everyone. It completely changed the way I look at life. It helped me through a tough time because it allowed me to realize that my perspective was off. After reading this book, my disposition changed. Life seemed better all of a sudden even though everything was exactly the same.

Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado is the first-hand account of one of the survivors of a plane crash in the Andes (upon which the movie Alive! was based). It is more than a riveting tale of true-life adventure: it is a revealing look at life at the edge of death and a meditation on the limitless redemptive power of love {review}.

Good recommends, I have Destiny of the Republic and Devil in the White City and will have to get to them sooner rather than later. I think the others will have to go on my list too.
