December Book Release Excitement

77 Shadow Street, Dean Koontz. Release date: Dec. 27, 2011.
I've read almost everything by Dean Koontz - and yes I do agree with some others that sometimes it felt like he was just churning out books to pay the bills and the quality slipped - but I know what he's capable of and I'll read ANYTHING he writes.
The Pendleton stands on the summit of Shadow Hill at the highest point of an old heartland city, a Gilded Age palace built in the late 1800s as a tycoon's dream home. Almost from the beginning, its grandeur has been scarred by episodes of madness, suicide, mass murder, and whispers of things far worse. But since its rechristening in the 1970s as a luxury apartment building, the Pendleton has been at peace. But now inexplicable shadows caper across walls, security cameras relay impossible images, phantom voices mutter in strange tongues, not-quite-human figures lurk in the basement, elevators plunge into unknown depths. With each passing hour, a terrifying certainty grows: Whatever drove the Pendleton's past occupants to their unspeakable fates is at work again. Soon, all those within its boundaries will be engulfed by a dark tide from which few have escaped.
The Angel Makers, Jessica Gregson. Release date: Dec 6, 2011.
The synopsis got me!
When the men of a remote Hungarian village go off to war in 1916, the women left behind realize their lives are much better without them. Suddenly, they are not being beaten; they have time for friendships; they even find romance with the injured Italian soldiers staying just outside of town. For Sari, an intelligent girl who's always been an outcast (her fellow villagers suspect her of being a witch because of her medical knowledge), it's the first time in her life she's had friends. When the men return at war's end, the freedom Sari and the others have enjoyed is suddenly snatched from them, and they realize they need to do whatever it takes to hold onto it.
Are there any books being released in December that you're excited about reading?

I used to read Dean Koontz all the time and then I just stopped. I think I might read this one to see if my love for him is still there.
I am looking forward to reading The Hunger Games. I am a day late on that one and I am curious to see what the hype is all about.
