November Reading Recap

November is my second month blogging, and I think I found a format that works for me - I certainly am having a lot of fun talking about books!

  • No. of library books read: 4
  • Total No. of Books Read: 6
  • No. of books I enjoyed: 4
  • No. of Authors I'd Never Read Before: 3
  • Male/Female Authors: 3/3
  • Types of Books Read: YA Paranormal (2); Short-stories (2); Sci-fi: (1); Adult Fiction/ Thriller/ Mystery: (1)
  • I obviously got more books from the library than I could handle, especially since I decided to slow down the pace of my reading to prevent me from rushing to finish a book and "increase my numbers." After this year, I'm not setting a goal for number of books to be read - it had a negative effect of me by making me think twice about reading "big books" plus speeding through books as I mentioned before.

How was your reading month - what was your favorite book (leave a link to the review so I can check it out).

November has been a busy month for you! China Mieville is an author I've been meaning to read. Thanks for the reminder!

Ach, I know what you mean about how a specific reading goal can turn you off from bigger books. I'm on pace for 52 books this year, but many of those were re-reads, and none were significantly huge. (Then again, I'm going to tackle Game of Thrones and Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell very soon, both of which are, well, huge.)

Favorite book of the month was definitely Mastiff, by Tamora Pierce, and I'm still having trouble with the fact that there are now exactly 0 Tortall books that I haven't already read at least once.
