Food is a big part of my life - I studied it, I teach it and, of course, I eat it (sometimes way too much of it). So consider this a weekly share of a salad (or soup or ... something healthy) that I'm loving at the moment - plus the book that currently has me hostage.
Consuming: Southwestern Soup - vegetable broth, corn, black beans, potatoes & carrots - made by loosely following this recipe @ Edible Perspective. Deliciousness!!!
Reading: The Iron King, Julie Kagawa. Okay, I'm liking this book so far (half-way through) ... but not loving it, and not planning on reading anymore in the series.
Thinking: Do NOT watch multiple episodes of The Walking Dead back to back. I watched the first 5 episodes of season 1 yesterday and had nightmares about zombies last night. I don't know if I can handle any more!
Q. What is the one book or series you are dying to see turned into a movie or tv series? (via the Book Blogger Hop @ Crazy for Books)
Before I Go to Sleep, S.J. Watson - one of my favorite books read during 2011. It's full of drama, intrigue & plot twists.
The Scorpio Races, Maggie Stiefvater has flesh eating horses ... nuff said! It's going to be on my favorite books read this year list.
Runner-up - Don't Breathe a Word, Jennifer McMahon. This has the possibility of being a creepy, psychological thriller.
Q. Best cover? What is the best cover of a book that you've read and loved? (via Feature and Follow Friday @ Parajunkee & Alison Can Read).
Imaginary Girls, Ren Suma - featured on 10 Enticing Book Covers of 2011 ... this is really a story about obsession on many levels - but especially siblings obsessed with each other, and how that can go very, VERY wrong. The book is well written, the story, intriguing and suspenseful.
Pure, Julianna Baggot - the cover is gorgeous, but the pages inside this novel paint a bleak and depressing World, full of tragic beauty (... see the discussion).
