Weekend Reading

I feel spring coming on, and it's putting me in such a productive mood. I'm raking up new projects, inspired to read, run outside and go for long walks.

#WeekendReading {Above} Eating {Greek Yogurt}

Reading: Above, Leah Bobet. On page 30/363. This book has been on my reading list for ages, and I'm so glad I finally started it. So far, I've found that the characters are really inventive.

Weekend Reading

Eating: Alpina Revive Greek Yogurt. The flavor is Mango and it comes with some toppings in a lid on top - Tropical Chia and Goji. It sounds so fancy, but it's rather bland. Still, I'll take that 15 grams of protein.

Thinking: I've been thinking about re-starting my food product reviews website, iateapie.net, and just thinking about re-coding it is giving me a headache! So, I'm going to finally check out what Wordpress is all about. I've tried it before, and didn't like the loss of control, but love all the themes and plugins available. Anywhoo, ideally the new site would be live on Monday. Practically, the 1st of April. Either way, I'm starting with Greek yogurt reviews - do you have a favorite? So far, I'm partial to the Oikos brand.

And, how much do you know about the HTML and CSS of your own blogs (if you have one)? I know just enough to do whatever I need myself, but sometimes I tire of the long discovery process.

Glad the characters are working out for you so far.

I've been building websites and learning and manipulating code on my own since I was about 16 and learned how to make sites in one of my HS computer classes. I love it. It certainly can be frustrating, but I always love the process. Makes me feel so proud and accomplished when I finally finish with a site or have it tweaked the way I want it.

Good luck with your code. I hope it doesn't take too long for you to get the site the way you want.

Spring makes me feel productive too. I know just enough html to handle my blog. I don't know any css. I'd like to do more with my blog but the learning process often takes so long that I don't have the time to focus on it. I'd like to carve out time though.

I absolutely loved Above, it was one of my favourite books of last year - and a local one too! Love that.

I suck at coding. I was already a uni student when the internet took off in the late 90s/early 00s so I've never had lessons (would like to one day). I use wordpress.org which you have a lot more freedom with and you can manipulate the code, which I don't (I once added a plugin which came with the instructions "add this line of code to x page" and I had no idea what they were talking about but I tried to figure it out and my entire blog vanished! So I don't fiddle. It took me forever to figure out how to upload stuff via my host server and all that, and now I'm too scared to make any changes! I hate being ignorant about it all but I've found it's just not intuitive and the online tutorials aren't well written. So my hat's off to you, Tanya, for being able to do it!

i am eating greek yogurt right now, too. but it's just honey flavor which doesn't taste like much. i always put stuff in it to counter the tartness and often buy just plain. so no favorite brands really. i love the name iateapie cause, uh, i am sorta obsessed with pie.

above is on my tbr list but i don't know when i'll get to it. hope you enjoy it!

Looking forward to reading your "new" site :) I know my blog layout well, because I coded it, but beyond that very little. There are so many functions and pages in Wordpress. My favourite greek yoghurt is Rachel's, and Yeo Valley is pretty good, too.
