Borrowed Books Challenge

The goal of the Borrowed Books Challenge hosted by LaToya Literally is to show love and support for local libraries. The duration is a short 3 months - from February to April.

Borrowed Books Mini Challenge {Plan}

I get 99% of my books from the library already, so to make it really challenging, I'll be aiming for the Book Star level of 15-20 books ... can I even read that much in 3 months? I don't know but I'm sure going to try.

Here's my (tentative) list:

1. Legend, Marie Lu
2. The Lover's Dictionary, David Levithan
3. We Others, Steve Millhauser
4. Will Grayson, Will Grayson, John Green & David Levithan
5. When Beauty Tamed the Beast, Eloisa James
6. Ninth Ward, Jewell Parker Rhodes
7. Divergent, Veronica Roth
8. Mistress of Rome, Kate Quinn *****
9. Neverwhere, Neil Gaiman
10. When She Woke, Hillary Jordan
11. Desperate Duchesses, Eloisa James
12. Radiant Days, Michael Fitzgerald
13. The Buddha in the Attic, Julie Otsuka
14. After the Apocalypse, Maureen F. McHugh
15. The Lock Artist, Steve Hamilton
16. A Visit From the Goon Squad, Jennifer Egan
17. Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Laini Taylor *****
18. The Devotion of Suspect X, Keigo Higashino *****
19. The Night Strangers, Chris Bohjalian
20. Fire, Kristen Cashore *****

Update: Finished the challenge goal of 20 books. - actually read 26 books borrowed from the library.

Sounds like a great challenge! I loved Divergent and Mistress of Rome. Go The Fuck to Sleep is probably the best bedtime story ever. I gave it to my sister for her twin baby girls and they loved it! Though, she replaced fudge for all the words she was afraid they might learn and take to daycare! Hehe!

I hope you reach your goal. : )

Nice, eclectic reading list! I've been getting most of my books from the library lately too. I find the due date is a great motivator to get the books read.

Oooh...sounds like fun! But since this challenge is in direct opposition to another 2012 challenge - to focus on reading what is already on my TBR shelves! - I think I will pass. I eagerly await your library updates, though! And that is a great list you've made with lots of variety - just what I like!

@Sue - ooh boy - I have a huge TBR shelf that I'm trying to cut down too - but can't resist adding more.

@Belle - oh yes, the library due dates get me too - sometimes I just get too eager and request too many.

@Jessie Marie - I'm so looking forward to Divergent - and I almost returned Mistress of Rome to the library unread. Now I'm glad I kept it!
