I joined The Eclectic Reader Challenge (hosted by Book'd Out), earlier this year, and it has been my favorite reading challenge so far. The goal is to push you a little outside your comfort zone by reading up to 12 books during the year from 12 different genres.
The 2012 Eclectic Reader Challenge {Plan}

2. Crime/Mystery Fiction - The Lock Artist, Steve Hamilton (157)
3. Romantic Fiction - When Beauty Tamed the Beat, Eloisa James (116)
4. Historical Fiction - Mistress of Rome, Kate Quinn (146)
5. Young Adult - The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, Michelle Hodkin (57)

11. Classic - Tess of the D'urbervilles, Thomas Hardy
12. Your favorite genre - Daughter of Smoke & Bone (174)
This reading challenge has been amazing so far because I've re-discovered my love for genres that I don't read much of anymore - like romance & historical fiction (specifically historical romance) - I'm definitely going to read more these types of books in the future.
