Getting Things Done Bloggiesta Style

I decided to get a head start on some of the Bloggiesta Fall 2012 Mini-Challenges last night - working

Getting Things Done Bloggiesta Style

1. Mini-challenge: Using a Blogger Journal and Calender
- Done! The picture at the beginning of this post is of my notebook with to-do list. I've tried using calendars for blogging, but it doesn't work for me. Instead I just draft the entries in my blogging software and save post ideas there.

2. Mini-challenge: How to Use Evernote
- Done! I downloaded this last night, and I'm using it to keep track of books read from different countries for my Olympics Reading Challenges.

3. Mini-challenge: 20+ Discussion Post Ideas For Your Book Blog (my own post) - I've already written and scheduled 2 Book vs. Movie posts coming up in the next few weeks.

4. Mini-challenge: Get Personal
- I don't usually share too much personal stuff here - BUT let me step outside that a bit and share that I started In Vitro Fertilization treatments at the end of August (after 2 surgeries to get ready). And egg+sperm met on September 11, 2012; I had the embryo transfer on September 16, 2012. And on September 26, 2012, I found out I'm preggers! Just 2 weeks which is VERY EARLY - but I can't help but be excited. The picture below is of the 2 embryos they transferred into moi!

Personal Story: IVF Embryos

There's a lot more I would like to do and I'll update again tomorrow with more progress. Here's some of my to-do list: Done list!!!

1. How to be organized by scheduling posts, making lists and using templates
- Working on scheduling the first 2 weeks in October. Done!

2. Use a Website Grader.
- I already know I'm a big fail on Twitter & Facebook! Done - got 80, and decided I can stand to be a little more active on Twitter, and I've already started.

3. Build Your Blog Audience.
- Will subscribe to the blogs of at least 10 bloggiesta participants. Done!!

4. Catch up on Reviews!
- Thankfully, I only have 2 to do. Done!!

5. Gravitars and Favicons!
- I don't want a Gravatar, but I need to upload a favicon. Done - made both.

6. Changes that are happening with Feedburner and how to switch to a new RSS Feed
- I'm switching RSS to Feedblitz. Email has always been with Mailchimp. Done!

Love you blog! It's so clean and modern!

And, I love that you started early on some of the mini-challenges! Way to be proactive!

A million times thank you for this post! I need to get a handle on several of these things. So far I've been using a notebook and google calendar to plan posts. It's working okay, but not totally great yet. What's the difference between a gravitar and a favicon? I'm interested to see how you like Feedblitz too.

A Gravatar is the picture you sometimes see beside your name when you comment on a blog post (if the blog has Gravatar enabled - and most Wordpress blogs do).

A Favicon is the little icon you see beside the URL (web address) in a browser.

Thanks everyone! I'm s freaking excited, but I kind of buried the pregnancy news in this post - so I'll be sharing a little more in the future as I get further along.

Congrats on getting preggers! Here is hoping and praying everything goes well and the baby develops into a very healthy and happy little one! Great goals, I'm off to check out the article about feedburner changes. Thanks for the link and good luck with your bloggiesta goals.

I prefer notebooks to calendars too. Calenders are too small and restrictive whereas with a list of notebook it doesn't seem to matter so much if you miss a self-given "deadline". Good luck with the rest of your plans for the weekend and congratulations on the pregnancy!

First of all: congratulations with your pregnancy :D :D That is wonderful news :)

Bloggiesta: you're doing pretty good so far - and your blog always looks so clean and polished! - am quite looking forward to your books vs movies posts :D
