We’ve talked a lot about this series – Cinder, Cress, Scarlet and Winter – but I cannot recommend it enough! It will pull you in and make you forget all about those long lines you’re standing in.

Is it just me or do you get stabby in large, unruly crowds too? I think Black Friday shopping can sometimes bring out the worst in people. Instead of acting on the urge to stab everyone, try listening to one of Tana French’s murder mysteries. The characters in her stories will make other shoppers seem like angels.
In Broken Harbor, a ghost estate outside Dublin – half-built, half-inhabited, half-abandoned – two children and their father are dead. The mother is on her way to intensive care. Prepare to get lost in the story and block out all the angst that comes with Black Friday shopping. Prepare to fall for the characters in this book. And prepare to smile, and weep.
