I feel like I’ve had a really great reading year. I’ve been super selective on what books I spend my time on and I haven’t felt bad about abandoning books that aren’t grabbing me. Here are the last three books that I raced through…
Gemina, Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Moving to a space station at the edge of the galaxy was always going to be the death of Hanna’s social life. Nobody said it might actually get her killed.
This is the second books in the Illuminae Files series and I had it in my hot little hands as quick as I could. I really loved it but honestly, loved Illuminae just a wee bit more.
The Supernatural Enhancements, Edgar Cantero
Twenty-something A., the unexpected European relative of the Wells family, and his companion, Niamh, a mute teenage girl with shockingly dyed hair, inherit the beautiful but eerie estate of Axton House. Axton House is haunted, they know it, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the secrets they slowly but surely uncover.
I read this for the #WickedGoodReads blog event in October and I am still so excited about this book. It’s a creepy mystery but the humorous edge to it just made this book a super fun read.
Nil, Lynne Matson
On the mysterious island of Nil, the rules are set. You have one year. Exactly 365 days–to escape, or you die.
Another book I couldn’t put down! I wouldn’t say it’s up to Hunger Games level of character building and killer plot twists, but it’s still a really great story.
What have you read lately that you couldn’t put down?
