5 Favorite Book to TV Shows #AMonthofFaves2016
While reading books are more my thing, I’ve surprisingly watched a number of tv shows based on books this year. Here are a few of my faves.
The Shannara Chronicles
💓 Season 1 of The Shannara Chronicles premiered on MTV in January – a surprising choice for a science fiction series. It’s based in the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. I watched along with the series, and loved it, although reviews have been mixed. Still, I’m glad a second season has been ordered.
Luke Cage
💓 Based on the Marvel Comics of the same name, premiered as a Netflix original series this year, and boy was it fast paced and action packed. I binged watched this series over a few days.
The 100
💓 The 100 TV series is based on a series of books by the same name written by Kass Morgan. I’ve watched all 3 seasons, and although Season 3 (2016) wasn’t my fave, I still have thoroughly enjoyed it, and will continue to watch it.
Game of Thrones
💓 Season 6 (2016) is full of so many wtf moments … I couldn’t even stand it!!! I cannot watch this show from week to week – instead, I wait until the season ends and then block out a weekend to sit and watch it ALL. That is the ONLY way to stand the suspense! Yes – a million exclamation points are necessary while discussing this. I have read all the books in A Song of Ice and Fire series, George R.R. Martin, and believe me when I tell you – the TV Show is better or at least not to be missed.
Second Chance
💓 Season 1 of Second Chance premiered on Fox this year (Jan. 2016), and is an interesting futuristic take on the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Not every episode was interesting so I can see why it wasn’t renewed for a 2nd season.

I was not really thrilled with how they presented Shannara but hopefully it will get better. I gave up on the 100 in the middle of season 2. Haven’t read those books.

I stopped watching the 100 after Finn died. He was my favourite character 🙁

My daughter and I love The 100 but I didn’t realize it was a book series! My bad. Sadly, my TBR pile can’t handle a series at the moment but someday…

@Susie I thin the GOT TV series is just as good as the books – some seasons are better than the books in my opinion 🙂
