These are a few of our favorite things that I mentioned loving this year – used daily, or whenever it was needed. These things rocked and I have no hesitation recommending.
Work – Travel – Everyday Carry
+ The fabric bound (blue) Moleskin Two-Go Notebook which is slightly smaller than a regular Moleskin was an essential part of my work life this year. It’s blank on one side and lined on the other – but the size was the main attraction for me. I’ve already bought another one – a gray fabric bound one – to use next year.
+ To write with, I’m using the Pilot G2 0.38mm Ultra Fine Black Gel Ink Pen (I was using the 7mm version last year). But the Ultra-Fine is for me – say goodbye to smudged ink forevahhhh!
+ My favorite brands for on the go tumblers is Contigo mugs which I’ve mentioned before – Contigo Autoseal Coffee Mug and Stainless Steel Water Bottle. They stay hot and cold forever! While the coffee mug is never going anywhere (just replaced my older one which was looking hella beat up) – I’ve got a new water bottle because I wanted one with a (re-usable) straw. I chose the Reduce Cold1 Tumbler and it goes everywhere with me. It similarly keeps things cold, like Contigo does (but truthfully, Contigo is the best).
+ In 5 Faves for Spring [The Travel Edition] I mentioned this matching travel kit is one of the best purchases I made this year so far … found at TJMaxx. Supporting a good cause, and traveling with cute gear – win, win!
+ If it’s one thing I have a lot of – it’s sunglasses … and scarves – but the last pair I bought is my favorite – these Aviator Ray-Bans (which I mentioned in Summer (F)avorite Things – The Bath and Beauty Edition). They are the only “expensive” pair I own and therefore, I’ve been wearing the hell out of them and treating them like one of my children!
Beauty Faves
+ Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser – the best for acne prone skin. At $40 for a 6.75oz bottle, it’s definitely on the pricier side but when you have problem skin and you find something that works, it’s worth investing in.
+ Fresh Rose (Hydrating) Face Mask is my favorite hydrating mask. It has a heavenly scent of cucumbers and just works.
+ TruSkin Naturals Vitamin C-Plus Super Serum is a product I discovered last December, and have been using faithfully every since. My skin tone has evened out noticeably because of this. I put it on after washing my face, before a moisturizer (or Retinol in the night).
+ Nivea Creme in the Tub is a MUST have for anyone with dry skin .. note I said the tub! It’s thicker than the formula in the bottle (pump). My favorite “smells good lotion” is Hello Beautiful Ultra Shea Body Creme (Bath and Body Works) – perpetual favorite – year after year.
Home
+ We just covered quite a few things in 7 More Favorites Around the Home so I won’t repeat myself here … but my favorite recent purchases for the home were these pillows from Target which are so smooth and these ones too to make a cozy couch this Winter.
+ And for the Christmas season, these holiday mugs from Target – essential for daily tea for me … hot cocoa for the teenager.
+ And this Chunky Red & White Weave Table Runner – also from Target.
+ The lanterns on the table are from Big Lots (bought last year). A tip for buying holiday items like this – get it so the wreath / decoration is removable. That way, it’s more useful year round. And get the ones that have a timer for the flameless candle – that way, you’re not constantly turning it on and off. Or – if it comes with a remoter – even bette.

I LOVE those mugs!
@T thanks!
I love the mugs with puns on them. There are some really cute mugs this year. I’ve resisted so far because my mom and I do have a hefty collection of winter mugs but when they go on sale after Christmas, I may give in.
@Rachael yes I completely understand how easy it is to have too many.
We have all the love for Contigo travel mugs over here. ALL. THE. LOVE!!!
I’m a pen fanatic, and still haven’t tried the Pilot G2. I have a few pens I love, and because I’m a lefty, the anti-smudging ones are a MUST. I’ll have to break down and buy the G2 at some point (no pun intended).
