Let me just preface this by saying that I haven’t picked up a book since I finished Nyxia Unleashed, Scott Reintgen on April 6- until now. A couple of days ago I had a stack of libraries books that I was really interested in reading. One of them was On The Come Up, Angie Thomas. I kept picking something up off the stack and then putting it down half a page later. I haven’t been able to concentrate. Spring fever? Too much going on? I’m not really sure.
So I returned them all to the library without reading them.
I’m sure I’ll end up eventually checking them out again in the future, but I could tell that I just needed to step away from books and the bookish community for a week. Hopefully, then I could come back fresh.
So that’s what I’m doing. I’ve decided to focus on the growing collection of Kindle books I have as well as my un-listened to Audible books. This weekend I started listening to Ghosts of Greenglass House, Kate Milford.
Welcome back to the irresistible world of Greenglass House where thirteen-year-old Milo is, once again, spending the winter holidays stuck in a house full of strange guests who are not what they seem. There are fresh clues to uncover as friends old and new join in his search for a mysterious map and a famous smuggler’s lost haul.
I still haven’t fully come back to #bookstagram or blogging, but it feels good to be reading again. Two weeks is kind of a long time for me to be away from all things books!
