One of the most awesome things about the book blogging community is all the events that you can participate in. Here are a few that you can join in December. And our 2nd annual Master List of Reading Challenges will be posted on Sunday, December 2nd!
December #BookBlogger Events
Dec. 1-31. A Month of Faves is almost here! We’re hosting this fun event in December along with Andi- Estella’s Revenge and Tamara- Traveling With T. We hope you’ll join us in recapping the best of the best from 2017.
Dec. 8-29. Six of Crows ReadaLong. Discussions on several chapters will occur each week.
Dec. 10-31. #ReadersCrossing [The Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Inspired Edition]. You’ll be reading books, completing tasks, making friends, and be surrounded by adorable animals. The challenge is based on a bingo board. You can either follow a specific path which is based on the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp themes of Cute, Cool, Natural, and Sporty. Alternatively, you can do the challenges in whatever order you wish.
Dec. 10 – Jan. 31, 2018. The 2018 Sci-Fi Experience. Write posts about science fiction related books you are reading, television shows or films you are watching, games you are playing or science fiction art you are appreciating.
Dec. 14-28. SapphicAThon. A readathon that focusses on reading f/f romances! There’s a bingo board of challenges and recommendations for each challenge, but they are completely optional. The only rule of the readathon is to read f/f romances that involves the main character. If you’re tweeting about it use the hashtag #sapphicathon or tag the twitter @wlwreadathon.
Dec. 13-24. Holiday AdventureAThon. Join a Holiday-themed ‘choose-your-own adventure’ style readathon following the North Pole map.
Dec. 25 – 31. Top 10 of 2017. A list of reading prompts to help you recap your reading year.
Dec. 25 – 29. Top 10 of 2017. All week long, there are different Top 10 of 2017 topics. Write your own list and then stop by to link up, eg. Top 10 Books Read in 2015, Book Covers and Book Boyfriends.
Dec. 1 – Feb. 28, 2018. Bookish Bingo: Winter 2017-18. There’s a new bingo card with 24 different categories. The object of the game is to get as many bingos as possible – and also to possibly expand your reading horizons. The only real rules are that you can only have one square per book, so no doubling up on challenges, and you can only count one DNF.
Book Awards
Dec. 21, 2017. Pen America Literary Awards Longlist. These awards honor the most outstanding voices in literature across diverse genres, including fiction, poetry, science writing, essays, sports writing, biography, children’s literature, and drama.
What events are you participating in this month? Do you know of any other #bookblogger events happening in December?
