Don’t Turn Out The Lights
“Cozy mystery ghost stories, paranormal creeptastic, horror novels.”
Our Choices
Kim – In September I’m reading a bunch of books in preparation for #WickedGoodReads (held here at GXO in October.) I’m also participating in R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril XIII. It’s the 14th year and I love this event! Can’t wait to immerse myself in all things creepy- movies count toward RIPXIII also! So although I could list a bunch of books for this month, I’ll just tell you about the one I started yesterday: Witchmark, C.L. Polk.
Magic marked Miles Singer for suffering the day he was born, doomed either to be enslaved to his family’s interest or to be committed to a witches’ asylum. He went to war to escape his destiny and came home a different man, but he couldn’t leave his past behind.
Tanya – Like Kim, most of my books read this month will be dark fiction. I’ve had Unbury Carol, Josh Malerman, as an (A)udiobooks Currently on Hold at the Library for a while, and it should get to me this month.
Carol Evers is a woman with a dark secret. She has died many times … but her many deaths are not final: They are comas, a waking slumber indistinguishable from death, each lasting days. Only two people know of Carol’s eerie condition. One is her husband, Dwight, who married Carol for her fortune, and when she lapses into another coma, plots to seize it by proclaiming her dead and quickly burying her alive. The other is her lost love, the infamous outlaw James Moxie. When word of Carol’s dreadful fate reaches him, Moxie rides the Trail again to save his beloved from an early, unnatural grave.
Tell us what you plan on reading in the comments – and then Remember to use the linky below to link up to your reads for this month and make sure to check out the other links as well!
